Spirit of Christmas at Hodgesville Elementary

Students at Hodgesville Elementary School learned about the true spirit of Christmas by giving to others in need.  The school adopted eight students from White Sulphur Elementary School after hearing about the devastating summer floods and knowing that some students needed a little extra for Christmas.   Families purchased toys and clothing for the students and placed under our school tree.   Then a group of parents and students in 4th and 5th grade wrapped the gifts so they would be ready for Santa to deliver.   Thanks to the generosity of our community a vehicle load of gifts was delivered by the Rock Cave Elementary School Principal, Amana Craig, and two large boxes were shipped via UPS.   In addition, students collected personal hygiene items to donate to the Upshur County Senior Citizens Center for distribution to the elderly in our county.   Due to the generosity of our families, many other families in our great state had a great Christmas!
