Upshur County Schools and GreenPower unveil the "Nano Beast" at a press conference on Thursday, March 2. As part of the pilot program, the Upshur County community can expect to see the "Nano Beast" for approximately 6 weeks. Participating in the pilot of GreenPower buses supports data collection regarding the efficiency of the electric vehicle in rural communities and diverse weather conditions.

"It is quite an exciting day for Upshur County Schools and we are pleased to be selected to pilot one of the electric buses. It will be enlightening for our Transportation Department to see how we might adapt a possible future fleet of electric buses to be efficient and effective in our rural terrain.", shared Dr. Debra Harrison, Superintendent of Upshur County Schools.

"We are excited to pilot the first electric school bus in Upshur County and to test this bus in our real world environment for the next 6 weeks. We know that zero emissions buses provide a healthier and cleaner environment." said Jodie Akers, Director of Transportation and Student Services, Upshur County Schools.
