Congratulations to our Upshur Stars, who continue to shine bright! Buckhannon Academy Elementary School student, Kacie Neal, and Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School student, Pyper Mazarek, were recognized for their academic excellence and performance at the regional Science Fair. Both students went on to represent Upshur County Schools in the state fair, where Pyper Mazarek received 3rd place for her project.
The Buckhannon-Upshur High School Girls' Basketball Team was recognized for their excellent performance throughout the season. The team advanced to Sectional and Regional finals, and represented Upshur County well.
Haley Butcher recited three poems from her performance at the Poetry Out Loud competition, where she received 5th place. Haley is the first student to represent Upshur County in the state competition.
Dr. Justin Bowers recognized Future Business Leaders of America students, who recently performed in the state competition. Students received 2nd place for their performance and academic excellence.
