We're still smiling from the incredible turnout at this past Saturday's Color Run! Thank you to everyone who came out to run, walk, volunteer, cheer, and celebrate with us. The energy, excitement, and colorful fun made for an unforgettable day.
Events like these remind us how fortunate we are to be part of a community that shows up for our students and schools. Seeing families, staff, students, and community members come together in such large numbers was truly inspiring.
A huge thank you to our organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the event a success. Most importantly, thank you to those who participated and helped create such a positive and vibrant atmosphere.
Did you know? Every time students enjoy our delicious Smart Mouth Pizza in our schools, it helps provide meals to children in need. Thanks to this partnership, Upshur County Schools has helped donate 5,400 meals so far! We're proud to support a program that turns everyday school lunches into something even bigger. 🍕❤️

Buckhannon-Upshur High School agriculture teachers Allyson Lewis and Jessica Snyder have been selected as 2026 National FFA Teacher Ambassadors, a distinction earned by only two West Virginia educators this year.
Through this national leadership opportunity, they will collaborate with agricultural educators from across the country, share best practices, access specialized professional learning, and bring valuable resources back to local students.
Thank you for your dedication to agricultural education and for representing Upshur County and West Virginia on the national stage. Congratulations! 🌾🚜👏

Upshur County students in grades K-8 are currently taking their Beginning of Year i-Ready Reading and Math assessments. These assessments help teachers identify each student's strengths and areas for growth, allowing them to provide instruction that best meets individual learning needs.

Students will take benchmark assessments three times during the school year: • Beginning of Year (Now) • Middle of Year (December) • End of Year (April)

The application window is open July 1 – August 1. Students wishing to participate in virtual learning for the upcoming school year must complete and submit an application during this period to be considered for enrollment.
