Upshur County Schools are dedicated to continuing to educate our students, while keeping them as safe as possible. As Upshur County’s status on the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR) County Alert System Map changes, face covering requirements within our schools also change. When the map indicates a level of Red or Orange, face coverings are required within Upshur County Schools. Under the Gold, Yellow, or Green levels, face coverings are not required. Regardless of the County Alert System color status, face coverings are required on school buses, as this is considered public transit by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), whose order requiring facial coverings is still in place. We continue to monitor the WVDHHR County Alert System Map daily and encourage our families to do so as well. Upshur County Schools are dedicated to continuing to educate our students, while keeping them as safe as possible. For additional information related to COVID-19, please visit www.upshurschools.com.

We are excited to share that COVID-19 vaccination is now recommended for children ages 5 and up. This is the most effective tool that we have to protect our students, families, and school from COVID-19. We are conducting a survey to determine the interest of families for their students to receive the vaccination. Use the link, https://bit.ly/3kwMowi , to submit your response to the survey.
