All Upshur County schools are closed today, Tuesday, December 19th due to inclement weather.
Due to inclement weather, all our schools will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Tuesday, December 19th. The bus message from earlier this evening is still in effect; however, please adjust the times in accordance with the delay. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Good evening. This is a message from Upshur County Schools. Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 19th bus 15 will not completing a morning or afternoon run. Additionally, Bus 35 will not be running the morning or afternoon run. Middle and high school students can meet at HES by 7:10 a.m. Bus 31 will also pick up students along route 20 who usually ride bus 35. Bus 31 will also drop these students off in the afternoon and return middle and high school students to Hodgesville at 3:50 p.m. We apologize for this inconvenience as we continue to train and seek new substitute drivers. This message will also be posted on the live feed on Upshur County School website.
Upshur County Schools will be experiencing a planned internet downtime / slower speeds tomorrow Tuesday, December 19th and Wednesday December 20th. The slowdown / outage is at a state level affecting counties throughout the state. This slowdown may also affect phone systems in our schools. Families need to ensure that notes are sent to school with their student in the morning if special arrangements need to be made.

Bus 30 and bus 26 will not be completing a morning or afternoon run tomorrow, Monday, December 18th. Middle and High School students can meet at WDES at 7:00 a.m. to ride bus 92 to their schools. Middle and high school students will be returning to WDES at 4:00 p.m. Additionally, bus 89 will not be completing an afternoon run tomorrow, Monday, December 18th. Good afternoon. This is a message from Upshur County Schools. Bus 18 will not be completing a morning run, tomorrow, Monday, November 27th. Middle and High School students can meet at FCES by 7:20 a.m. to ride bus 239 to their school. Additionally, bus 23 will not be completing a morning or afternoon run, tomorrow, Monday, November 27. Middle and high school students can meet bus 33 at RCES by 7:10 a.m. and will return for pick up at RCES at 3:40 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Upshur County Schools sincerely apologizes for the lack of buses running today, November 9, 2023. We have a dedicated group of drivers that at times need to be off for various appointments requiring substitutes to fill their runs. Unfortunately, we do not have enough currently to cover when our drivers need to be away from their positions. Upshur County is not unique to this, across the state runs are cancelled daily in many counties. We are always looking for folks willing to complete the required training to provide for situations like today.
We once again apologize and thank you for your support as we move forward in providing a quality education for all of our students.

We regret to inform you that there are multiple bus cancellations for Thursday, November 9, 2023. The following buses will not be making a morning or afternoon run: bus 24, 26, 30, 35, 86, 96, 238, 243, and 244. Additionally, buses 87 and 236 are not making a morning run. Bus 15 will not be making an afternoon run. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience that this causes to our families and desire that if able you bring your child to school tomorrow. If they are unable to attend school tomorrow please provide a notice to your child's school.
Bus 86 will not run Monday morning, October 2nd. Middle and High School students need to meet at Rock Cave Elementary School no later than 7:10 a.m. Bus 33 will be transporting middle and high school students to their schools. Bus 23 will be transporting elementary students to French Creek Elementary and will pick up students at regular stops and times.
The HVAC issue at Buckhannon-Upshur High School has been successfully resolved. BUHS will resume normal operations tomorrow August 29, 2023.
Buckhannon Upshur High School will be closed tomorrow, August 28, 2023 due to no air conditioning. Staff is to report to Buckhannon Upshur Middle School library for the day.
Buckhannon Upshur High School is dismissing at 11:30 today due to lack of air conditioning. This is the high school only, no other schools are impacted.
Pre-K Start Dates:
Mt. CAP PreK and Head Start sites starts on August 16th.
Child Development Center School Sites start on August 23.
Bus 35 will not complete the PM run. B-UHS and B-UMS students who ride Bus 35 will be transported by Bus 31. B-UMS Lincoln Street students who normally ride Bus 31 will be transported by Bus 236. HES students who ride Bus 35 will be transported by Bus 22 and will arrive home approximately 20 minutes later than normal.
