Under the Orange level, face coverings are required within Upshur County Schools and on school buses.

Buckhannon-Upshur High School was placed on a precautionary lockdown this afternoon. Students were asked to remain in classrooms as local law enforcement performed their security sweeps throughout the building. An all clear was issued by law enforcement once the investigation was completed. Students have been released to follow their regular schedules.

The Upshur County Parish House is offering a Vaccination Clinic today, August 30th, until 1:00PM. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is free of charge and will be offered to individuals ages 18 and older. No appointment is necessary to participate.
High School Football Game Cancelled for Tonight, August 27
A local high school football game scheduled for tonight, August 27 has been canceled due to an exposure and an abundance of caution related to COVID-19.
The game affected involves Buckhannon-Upshur High School vs. Bridgeport High School.
Buckhannon-Upshur’s next scheduled game is slated to be played on September 3 at Ripley High School.

It is with great excitement that we welcome you back to a new school year. We hope that the summer of 2021 provided you with opportunities to explore the outdoors and make memories with your friends and family.
Tomorrow, August 17, we will welcome back our Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th, and 9th grade students for their first day on campus. Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm.
On Wednesday, August 18, all Pre-K through 12th grade students will be welcomed back to school for the first full day of instruction. We look forward to seeing you!

Good morning (or afternoon) and welcome to the 2021-2022 school year.
If you have a student entering 7th or 12th grade this year, they are required by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources to receive either their 1st meningitis and Tdap vaccines prior to entering 7th grade - or their 2nd meningitis vaccine prior to entering 12 grade. They must have these vaccines, or bring to the school nurse proof of vaccination from a doctor's office, before the first day of school, August 18th, in order to start.
